Ombudsman

In organizations, conflict between people who work together is part of everyday life. Conflicts are often chronic, between individuals or between groups and departments, and sometimes end up in court. But even when they stay latent or seemingly small, they almost always affect people’s wellbeing, the harmony of the workplace and motivation. The ombudsman is a neutral, confidential, independent and informal figure that employees and members of an organization can turn to in order to raise problems, conflicts and difficult situations they meet at work. The ombudsman does not replace, but complements the official channels of the organization (human resources, legal affairs), offering an alternative option for handling conflict. Working informally and confidentially, the ombudsman is a safe and protected counterpart with whom sensitive situations and unwanted behaviour (discrimination, harassment) can be shared without fear of publicity, retaliation or repercussions in the workplace and towards the employer.

I offer my twenty years of experience in conflict mediation to companies and organizations as an outsourced ombudsman service, building tailor-made solutions according to the context, the size and the needs of each organization.
