Negotiation is a very interesting tool, but it is often — wrongly — interpreted as a mere settlement attempt between lawyers. And in a negotiation, improvising is the best way to get the worst result.
For negotiation to bear fruit, going beyond positions and widening the range of possible solutions, specific skills are needed: working on the parties’ interests and needs, handling deadlocks, mastering listening and questioning techniques.
Thanks to my expertise as a mediator, I support fellow lawyers, working alongside them, in managing and conducting negotiations and assisted negotiations.
Or I act as a neutral third party, as a facilitator in negotiation and in Collaborative Practice.
My added value:
- I facilitate and coordinate the negotiation process
- I help to overcome deadlocks
- I am skilled in handling conflict and interaction problems between the people at the table
- I help build solutions based on interests and needs
- I host parties and lawyers in a neutral third place that guarantees the utmost confidentiality.
